Description
Amazon Jade Marble is a marble quarried in China, featuring a rich, deep emerald to jade-green base with subtle tonal variations. Flowing, misty light-green and white veins move organically across the surface, creating a natural, layered, and somewhat abstract appearance. Fine granular textures and subtle linear markings add depth and organic movement.
Texture & Structure
The marble has a fine- to medium-grained crystalline structure with a relatively compact texture. Its surface combines soft, flowing mineral movement with fine granular textures and delicate linear markings. Natural variations in colour intensity, veining, and mineral distribution occur between slabs.
Technical Characteristics
- Water Absorption: Approximately 0.10–0.30% by weight
- Density: Approximately 2,700–2,750 kg/m³
- Flexural Strength: Approximately 10–12 MPa
- Compressive Strength: Approximately 100–110 MPa
- Hardness: Approximately 3–4 Mohs
These are reference ranges for comparable marbles and are not certified test results for Amazon Jade Marble. Actual values should be confirmed by the quarry or supplier.
Chemical & Mineralogical Composition
- Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃): Approximately 85–98% by weight
- Magnesium Carbonate (MgCO₃): Approximately 0–5%
- Silicon Dioxide (SiO₂): Approximately 0.5–5%
- Aluminum Oxide (Al₂O₃): Approximately 0.1–2%
- Iron Oxides (Fe₂O₃/Fe₃O₄): Approximately 0.05–1.5%
- Other oxides and accessory minerals: Minor amounts
The principal mineral is expected to be calcite, with possible minor dolomite, quartz, mica, feldspar, and other accessory minerals. The green coloration and tonal variations may be associated with minor silicate and other mineral impurities. Exact chemical and mineralogical percentages should be established through laboratory testing of the specific quarry material.
Usage
Suitable applications include interior wall cladding, feature walls, flooring, bathroom walls, vanity tops, countertops, backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, tabletops, furniture, decorative panels, and other architectural applications. Its rich green colour also makes it suitable for luxury interior and decorative projects. For high-use surfaces such as kitchen countertops, the specific material's technical properties should be verified before selection.
Maintenance
Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and wipe spills promptly. Avoid vinegar, lemon juice, acidic cleaners, abrasive powders, and harsh chemicals. Sealing is recommended for countertops, vanities, and other stain-prone surfaces. Use cutting boards and protective pads on kitchen and furniture applications. Regular cleaning and periodic resealing will help preserve the polished surface.
